WHAT IS A TRAINING PROGRAMME’S END GAME? COMPETENCE, OF COURSE…
You want your staff to be competent, you want your vendors to be competent and so on.… What you need is a resilient competency system….
Since 2015, we have done our groundbreaking work with the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) and we have rewritten the script for competency certification. We have proven that real success lies not in mere training but in verified and demonstrable competence. Our focus is not just on learning; it is on achieving and surpassing the highest industry standards across construction and beyond – into the manufacturing sector and more.
One point is clear – without a robust competency system, training falls short. That is why we have honed an innovative approach that transforms potential into performance. By certifying roles like Construction Competency Assessor (CCA), Construction Internal Verifier (CIV) and Construction External Verifier (CEV), we do not just check boxes – we ensure your team not only knows their stuff but proves it on the ground. Our method? A cycle of customised competency standards, rigorous assessments and continuous verifications which resulted in a gold standard for competence.
Choosing us is not just upgrading training; it is owning competence. Our CIDB partnership? Proof we do not follow benchmarks – in fact, we set them. Tangible competence sets you apart. Miss out and you risk staying behind. Lead with our competency systems.
DO NOT JUST COMPETE; DOMINATE. ACT NOW.
Prior to implementing a tailored competency system, it is crucial to know your organisation’s current standing and our initial competency analysis is designed to offer this insight. We meticulously examine the existing skills, knowledge and skills of your workforce as well as review the current effectiveness of your competency standards. This analysis provides a roadmap to understanding the gaps and potential in your workforce.
By conducting this analysis, we offer your organisation clarity on the existing competencies while ensuring alignment with the CEO or Managing Director’s vision. This thorough understanding of your competency landscape lays the groundwork for developing a customised competency blueprint, an important milestone for change.
We offer this competency analysis free of charge as a commitment to your success and a preview of the value we can bring to your organisation.
Reach out to us today for your complimentary competency analysis and experience first-hand the transformative potential of our competency system.
This task will be undertaken in collaboration with your organisation’s staff. We will develop a comprehensive blueprint/framework that encompasses an understanding of your organisational vision and mission, its function and job roles which will lay the groundwork for subsequent competency standards development.
The outcome of this development exercise will result in the following:
We will develop your competency standards for each job position within the organisation after we have developed the Competency Blueprint/Framework of the organisation. These standards specify the performance criteria which include the knowledge, practical skills and attitudes required for each position and serve as a benchmark for staff’s/employee’s performance.
The competency standards will be realistic and achievable, yet challenging enough to promote growth and improvement. These standards will be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) to be effectively used in performance assessment.
The outcome is that the organisation will have a set of detailed, validated competency standards for each job position within your organisation. These standards will be used to guide the development of training modules, the selection of instructors and assessors as well as the performance assessment procedures in the following stages.
We will develop customised training modules that equip employees with the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to meet the competency standards of their respective job positions.
We will utilise a variety of training methods to cater to different learning styles that include practical, job-related exercises to ensure the training is relevant and engaging.
The outcome is that the organisation will have developed comprehensive, effective training modules that are designed to help employees meet the competency standards of their day-to-day job positions. These training modules will also help the staff/employees to be prepared for their assessments.
Instructors
Assessors
Internal Verifiers
The outcome is the organisation will have its own team of competent instructors, assessors, and internal verifiers who can maintain and uphold the competency system independently. This team will ensure that the training is delivered effectively, assessments are conducted accurately and fairly as well as the quality is maintained throughout the process.
As a special service to the organisation, we will provide the external verification. This is to ensure that the in-house instructors, assessors, and internal verifiers are performing their tasks according to the set competency standards.
The outcome is that through regular external verification and quality assurance processes, your organisation will ensure that the quality of the competency system is being assured effectively and accurately, maintaining the integrity of the system and supporting continuous improvement.
Since I have been involved in the production of the competency standards for the construction industry, I am now convinced that producing a practical set of competency standards is a must for the construction industry and I believe Mr. Saiful and his team should be the experts to lead in this respect.
